We skied this little peak in June 2010. Road was in 2WD condition, it seemed that recent maintenance had occurred to FSR. Matt Gunn's guidebook gives a great description of the approach and scramble. However, the road is now drivable to where he said the trailhead starts. We were able to ski to end of the road and accessed the alpine without descending to the creek, but this might no go without the snowpack. There is a flagged route through the trees to the creek that is Matt's guidebook.
